I am one little sheep,
one little sheep
who wandered so deep
and now I am far from home
and so alone.
I am one little sheep,
one little sheep
who wandered so deep
and now I am far from home
and so alone.
I love this road that I’m on
I’ve been traveling it so very long.
The scenery is pretty
and I have some good company.
I’d travel forever
never straying or turning, no never.
But that is not meant to be,
this road that I’m on is ending for me.
Never mistake a road’s end
for one that simply has a bend.
Yes, goodbyes may be tough,
but a new road is waiting for my love.
So, I will travel on
and advance down the road I belong.

The courage to say yes.
The courage to try.
The courage to show up.
The courage to give it your might.
I can’t sleep because you are on my mind –
I don’t believe you when you say you’re fine.
What else can I do
But say a prayer for you.
And I hope your dark clouds part and you find the sun.
There’s just always a worry when you love someone.

When the dark comes in by ck
Will you take care of me
when I’m old and gray –
when my get up and go
has completely gone away?
It is entirely possible I am wrong –
but aren’t we all searching for that place we belong?
To hear those comforting words – you are not alone.
You are always welcome here – this is your home.

Their two children
cried and hugged him so
and begged him
to stay and not to go.
He looked at
her and she looked down.
It was best
if he didn’t stay around.
She didn’t
feel anger any longer
So very
tired but a little stronger.
Yesterday
she grieved their love
But today
her heart was tough.
And she
remembers the day
before they
let it all slip away…
Life was good once.
She felt blessed once.
She had love once.
She knew happiness once.
All before life slipped their love away.

He looked down
at the engraved stone.
Then turned
and slowly went home.
He looked at
old photographs and smiled.
How he wished
they could talk again for awhile.
The days
sure felt longer
He’s still
sad but a little stronger.
He just missed
her every single day
and wished
she could have stayed.
And he
remembers the day
that she
had to slip away.
Life was good.
He felt blessed.
He had love.
He knew happiness.
Before life slipped his love away.

It’s kind of like mixing these two songs together:
Let that Pony Run by Pam Tillis
Love Me by Collin Raye
I wanted to go for a bike ride
but I waited around.
Then the sky turned dark
and the rain came down.
He said,
“I think I love you,”
and just like that and just that quick
a party of one became a party of two.
