Levels of obedience
We are all probably familiar with the 10 Commandments. Whether we believe that they are from God, guidelines to a better life, or a nuisance is up to each of us. As I thought about the commandments God has given us I realized none of us are on the same path. There are at least four different levels of obedience. Let’s use the example of taking cookies out of a cookie jar to demonstrate each level.

Advice for New Missionaries
Twenty-four years ago I left home to serve an 18-month mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This was a huge step out of my comfort zone for me on so many levels. My time in the field was not what I expected and because of that I had to make peace with the outcome. As I thought about my experience I came up with some advice I wish I could give myself twenty-four years ago. Since I can’t, I will share it here.
