The other day I had a meeting with the Quality Assurance team. It was one of those highly-important kind of meetings that I get invited to so that I can take notes. This means, I need to pay attention. Which, as any regular reader to this blog knows, is not my strong suit. I mean, just look at my cover picture. It’s a little girl wandering aimlessly on the beach. No sir, focus and attention is not a strength of mine. But the good news is I can only improve. So, that’s good.

The Line of Disbelief
There is a line for us. A line we just will not cross. It is the line of disbelief. The line is at varying lengths depending on the individual. For example, I think my dad’s line is just barely past his nose. If we put in a movie with any green guys or ugly monsters, it’s a safe bet he’s out of there. My sister NJ’s is a little farther out but she reached it the other night.
We were watching Lois and Clark. What? I already confessed I watch it on Sunday evenings. Anyway, we watched Lois and Clark, the New Adventures of Superman. She giggled. “This episode is just silly.”
J’s Story
Have you ever been told something that you’re not quite sure if it’s true? Ever? Years later you still retell the story (because it is a good story) and there’s always an edge of doubt to your voice. You are always compelled to attach a disclaimer with the events just in case the audience won’t believe you. Then you can say, “Yeah, I don’t think it could happen either,” and not sound so gullible. It happens to me quite a bit.
Arachnids and Me
I live in the high-desert mountains of Wyoming. This means I have plenty of uninvited guests sneak into my home because my home is built right on top of theirs. Spiders are frequent intruders and I am constantly killing reminding them to stay out.
The other day I found a web connected to the toilet. Okay, no way am I going to let a cobweb be connected to something I use at my most vulnerable moments. Or to sensitive areas that I really don’t want to get bit. I got rid of it immediately.
One morning I woke up and went to do my normal morning routine. As I stumbled out of my bedroom I walked through a silvery, kind of sticky substance. One industrious spider had spent the night spinning a web in my doorway.
so there might be a chance I exhibit some OCD tendencies
March 24, 2012 I reached my all-time high visits to my website. Which is cool. It really is.
The only trouble is it’s a number that ends in 9. Nine? Really? Not that I’m not appreciative of the views, because I am, it’s just if it’s going to be my all-time highest viewed day, I wish I would have gotten just one more to make it a lovely, whole number. Ah, then I wouldn’t mind seeing that number every day telling me – this is as good as it’s going to get.
Every day I watch my stats and hope for that number + one just so that my all-time highest achievable number looks…pretty.
(sigh) I’m not crazy. I’m sure a lot of you would agree with me on this, right? I hope none of the nines are offended. You’re just not that cool. Okay, maybe I’m a little crazy.

The (no longer) New Adventures of Superman
Thanks to the latest channel realigning, my tv now gets a station called HUB. It appears to be another rerunistic network offering “classics” like the Wonder Years and Sliders. Yep, you read that right, Sliders. Don’t remember that one? A little IMDb digging reminded me it had Jerry O’Connell in it (Rebecca Romijn’s hubby after John). You do remember it? Put the remote down and get off the couch once in awhile.
Siri’s distant cousin she doesn’t like to talk about
I’ve had my iPhone for awhile now. I knew when I purchased it that it was a little too much phone for me. But I decided to splurge so that I wouldn’t have to buy another phone for a few years. That’s how I roll.
I showed it off to a friend shortly after I received it. At this moment, I can’t remember which friend I had the following conversation with.
Facebook Games I Play
So, I was in a good mood last night. I wanted to keep the good juice flowing and decided to play a little Facebook game. My Facebook posts are kind of hit and miss since I only have 100 followers friends. Sometimes I post games that look more like Solitaire. But, last night I decided to try and play anyway.
I posted: I will buy a shake to the first person who can make me laugh out loud. Starting… NOW!
Then I started placing wagers with myself which one of my bestest fb buddies, if any, would respond. To my surprise, my bait worked and I had one rise to the challenge.

True, it’s more cute than funny. However, Buttermilk bears a certain hyperactive resemblance to my nephew. Still, I wasn’t going to be so easily swayed. But after the second knock over I let out a snort. Dangme. That snuck up on me. I blame it on the fact I was already in a good mood.
I considered not fessing up. After all, how would anyone know?
J-Girl wasn’t finished. She sent me this next: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VF9-sEbqDvU Okay, this is just funny but I was determined not to laugh. Then Marcel the Shell walked her dog.
I finally decided to do the honorable thing and confess I already laughed. J-Girl said she had more lined up so I think I should have held out a little longer.
I also had another person post: Do you like blue?
Was this another joke coming my way? Such a simple question but I didn’t know how to respond. So I asked, blue? The color blue? Yeah. And I waited for the punch line. I’m still waiting. Perhaps she meant to ask, do you feel blue? To which, I would have said, Nope. Just feeling like laughing. See, I like to laugh.
Today I kept thinking of Marcel the Shell. Before there was such an easy mass outlet known as Youtube, how did people express their creativity? Unseen projects in the basement? That gives it a different vibe, doesn’t it? Youtube postings reach cult followings. Secretive basement projects sometimes only reach unwilling, captive audiences. Funny how much of a difference one little video-sharing website can make.
I wonder what else J-Girl had to share? Maybe I’ll have to play again tonight.
