Two trees in a garden

both with fruit hanging from them

one looked sweet

one looked bitter

only one was forbidden

 

because you see,

there was a need for both tree

each fruit

hanging

was essential for us to be.

 

The Tree of Life

with fruit so white

looked bitter

to the taste

perhaps not yet ripe

 

because you see,

that fruit will become sweet

after the need

of the Atonement of Christ

is in full measure and complete.

 

The Tree of Knowledge

that seemed so pleasant

to those who

then lived in

a state of innocence

 

because you see,

sweet at first taste

may over time

lose savor

as palates are graced.

 

 

Perhaps two trees in a garden

both with fruit hanging from them

one looked sweet

the other bitter

only one was forbidden

 

because you see,

to truly understand the difference

between sweet

and bitter

is best learned by experience.
