This has never been my strong suit. I wasn’t a very good missionary. Don’t get me wrong, I can and will preach and verbally share my testimony to willing participants.
But I have found long ago, standing as a witness requires more than preaching. People tend to not listen to lectures. What people notice is behavior and actions. If we don’t look like a joyful people because we have knowledge of the restored gospel then why would they want to listen to our words?
This is something I’m working on. It’s not easy for someone racked with anxiety to look joyful or to look like someone with a joyful message. In reality though, I have the most joyful message of all. Because of the Atonement of Christ I am still here and still trying. So even though I may forget to smile or I’m too worried to be pleasant, I really do have a joyful message to share.
