Thanksgiving 2016

This is not the road

I would have chosen to walk.

It is wearing me out,

pushing all I have to the limit.

Darkness surrounds me

and I have to rely on what I feel

not on what I see.

Now I have an opportunity,

a choice,

to understand the Atonement of Christ on a new level.

This new depth of pain

will require a new depth of healing

which could produce a new depth of faith

which could lead to a new depth of knowledge.

So I will offer up thanks

for this sore trial

that will either make or break me

and for this defining moment

when I get to choose who I will become.

Thank you for the refiner’s fire

that will leave me forever changed.
