Another combination but really this one is pretty seamless. It really is almost one talk in two parts (and two speakers). It’s hard to believe it wasn’t planned.
Elder Maynes spoke during the evening Priesthood session but his counsel can be applied to everyone. Basically, the more obedient we are the more we are trusted by the Lord. I loved his story he shared about his father. It’s nice to have good parenting examples.
Elder Ellis spoke Sunday and his talk picked up where Elder Maynes’ talk left off. The Lord trusts us but do we trust Him? Especially when things become difficult? As the Queen of Plan B’s this was a good invitation to personally answer this question. Do I still trust Him even though my life’s route hasn’t gone according to plan? This topic will probably become a personal study topic for me down the road as I search for an honest answer.
