I wanted to go for a bike ride
but I waited around.
Then the sky turned dark
and the rain came down.
Just like that
everything around me
became dark ,
wet, and oh, so gloomy.
The storm moved in –
I heard the thunder rolling
and saw flashes of lightning.
The sunlight disappeared –
will it ever return again?
For a moment I was
scared as I had ever been.
That’s when I learned –
Wyoming rain doesn’t last.
So watch it fall on the grass
because just as fast
the dark clouds roll pass.
Wyoming rain doesn’t last.
Years later and a little older
I’m back in my hometown
when my sky turned dark
and troubles came around.
Just like that
worry consumed me
when my outlook
became dark and gloomy.
The storm moved in –
what was I to do?
Will I make it through?
My smile disappeared –
will it ever return again?
There I was
scared as I had ever been.
But troubles are like storms –
and Wyoming rain doesn’t last.
So life will give you all it has
but remember that just as fast
this too shall pass
Wyoming rain doesn’t last.

It’s good that dark moods don’t last in us humans, but why doesn’t Wyoming rain last? Do you have very little rain there? 😐
Well, my dark mood will probably return since the source of the conflict is still very present. It relates to my meme on Friday. Still can’t divulge details. Yet.
I live in a high mountain desert. Almost 7,000 feet above sea level but surrounded by sagebrush.
There is a saying here, “If you don’t like the weather here…wait five minutes.” We also have had rain on seemingly sunny days (true story – due to wind).
The wind tends to blow away any moisture we may get. Nasty stuff, that wind. Only the tough thrive here 😉
