I’ve stated it before and I’ll say it again. I’m not big on goals. So this whole New Year Resolution thing is not really my forte. There have been a few times I wanted to become a better person by resolving to do better. Be better. Come February, however, I make an important discovery. And that is this – I like me! Or at least, I’m comfortable with me. Why change?
In January 2012 I set some goals. I’ve heard that if you want to achieve a goal it helps to let others know your plan. That’s what I did. I posted on Facebook and I told a few friends. Forgive me but I’m going to toot my horn and ring my bell. I finally managed to hold onto my resolutions for one entire year. Yay me!
My goals for 2012 were as follows:
1) Do not end up on the People of Wal-Mart website. As far as I know, mission accomplished. I don’t think I provided any fodder to tempt the camera elves. I don’t think I have anyway.
2) Do not find any of my photos on awkwardfamilyphotos.com. I may have tempted fate with this one a little bit. But to the best of my knowledge I have kept this goal.
3) Do not end up as a story on SPIKE’s 1,000 Ways to Die. I can guarantee I complied 100% with this one. No question about it.
What goals should I set in 2013? The natural order of goals is to progress and in order to do that I need to one-up it a little bit.
Nah.
Don’t mess up what’s working – right?
