The meme makers went crazy over this talk. Don’t let the lighthearted analogy deter you from the profound truths in this talk. Elder Uchtdorf offered some hefty soul-meat at his table. Continue reading
Stupid radish story
I have this theory that I developed in high school. It is all thanks to a science project I did but I already wrote about the details here. To sum up, I truly believe words matter. Tone matters. Uplifting and edifying words promote growth while negative and insults damn growth. At the end of 2019, I was to share a Sunday School lesson about James. Part of James’ epistle centers on our language. At least, that was my take away from it. Now, I’ve used the example of my science project many times and many people poo-poo it. They don’t trust the results. So, I thought I would recreate it. I set out to prove the results of my high school science project. Continue reading
The radish experiment that went awry
Beware 8 legged freaks!
The only species of spider I like is the kind with “man” as a suffix. All others beware. I’m pulling out all the stops. Continue reading
General Conference thoughts: Finding Joy in Sharing the Gospel and Knowing, Loving, and Growing
I don’t know about you but missionary work is a topic I don’t like to discuss. It’s one of those that when the word is mentioned in class I try not to make eye contact. Let’s just say, there is plenty room for improvement in my life. So, I have a tough time making a connection with this topic because my feelings of guilt thump loud in my ears. But here’s the thing, we make it more difficult than it needs to be. Continue reading
Gospel of Consolation
Mosiah 7:33

Sweeping it under the rug
Sure, we may “sweep it under the rug” to get it out of sight. But then we end up tripping on the rug so maybe not the best idea? Continue reading
General Conference thoughts: Covenant Belonging
It might be an innate desire to want to belong. I have no statistics to back me up only a personal hypothesis but we tend to seek out a niche we can call home. Some kind of ownership where it is okay to be our true selves. The gospel offers that sanctuary and the only price is our covenants with God. Continue reading
Wyoming’s PSA
The other day I heard a PSA on the radio. Now, keep in mind, I live in Wyoming. Our Public Service Announcements probably sound a little different than yours. But this little Wyoming PSA was focused on ice-fishing. More specific, what to do if an unlucky fisher fishes on thin ice and falls in. I have never been ice fishing and it is not even remotely on my bucket list of things I need to do before I die to feel accomplished. But I listened to the steps anyway. Continue reading
