While in Primary
we learn to give
standard answers
we should all live.
Poetry inspired by being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
I am thankful for spring –
with its longer days and warmer air.
I am thankful for sweets –
and all the delicious goodies we share.
You laid down your head,
you closed your eyes.
Leaving when there’s more to be said,
without saying goodbye.
Why has this happened,
why has this happened to me?
When I seem to lose all hope, I hear a voice saying:
Don’t worry. I’ll be with you when I can, just go on,
please stay strong.
Do not worry, you may not see me right now
but I know somehow,
I will hold you, I will see you, I will feel you again.
But don’t worry, I’ll never really leave you,
because of Him.
I’ve given my greatest sacrifice and put my heart to the test.
But I realize, I’m not the only one to go through this.
I think of my Brother and what he went through –
because of Him I can hope, because of Him, I can be comforted,
because of Him, I hear a voice saying:
Don’t worry, I’m with you always, just go on,
please stay strong.
Do not worry, you may not see me right now,
but I know somehow,
I will hold you, I will see you, I will feel you again.
But don’t you worry, I’ll never really leave you
because of Him.

Her smile melts hearts,
she is everyone’s friend.
Truer than true –
she’ll stick with you till the end.
Do you suppose
Moses wanted to give up
and maybe even run away?
I suppose
Moses stayed out of love
because he knew a better way.
Do you suppose
if you gave up
your problems would go away?
I suppose
courage is in love
true love – helps us find our way.

When you look at me,
what exactly do you see?
A silly old girl
out of touch with reality?
So, life got hard,
It is just not that easy.
Sunshine and roses,
It will not always be.
I remember the time
Mom and I were at the store
I let go of her hand
so that I could explore.
I like spring, I do, I do
the resurrection of the earth when it begins to renew –
reminds me death is not the end, it’s true, it’s true,
and someday, someday I will get to hug you
just like I used to do.
