A Conversation with God

“I am tired of holding on,” I say. “I think I will let go now.”

“If you let go, I will continue to hold on,” God replies.

“For how long?”

“I never give up on anyone. But they give up on me. I will always hold on.”

“So, I can let go for a bit?”

“If you let go you may not find your way back. You may wander away from me and never return.”

“I don’t know if I believe in you.”

“Dear, I believe in you.”

“But I’m tired.”

“I know tired.”

“I’m lonely.”

“I know lonely.”

“I am lost.”

“I am the way.”

“I have no excuse.”

“There is no excuse.”

“Help me hold on.”

“Child, I already am.”
