Thursday is Thanksgiving

a family gathered scene.

But before company arrives

we must get busy and clean.

The effort on cleaning

depends on who is coming to stay.

Non-related peeps mean, of course,

cleaning will take all day.

Relatives require less effort

but visible cobwebs must go.

Run a vacuum over the rug

and make sure no dust will show.

Siblings coming, however,

get a set of clean sheets,

if lucky that is,

and maybe a blanket that heats.

No use putting on airs

for those nearest on the family tree.

If they aren’t impressed by now

chances are they never will be.
