by President Russell M. Nelson
I used to pray, and to be honest I sometimes still slip into this mode, to let so-and-so “be safe.” What does that even mean? Do I really expect all my loved ones to be able to live in some kind of bubble totally protected from the world and make it through unscathed? This is not a realistic hope and it won’t help anyone I’m praying for.
Instead, I am specific about my plea to “be safe” physically. I also pray that the littles in my life 1) know he or she (I pray for each one by name) is a child of God; 2) feel like he or she belongs and has a safe home or haven; 3) learns to communicate with the Spirit of God.
“In coming days, it will not be possible to survive spiritually without the guiding, directing, comforting, and constant influence of the Holy Ghost” said President Nelson. And I believe him. No other piece of armor is more crucial than learning the language of the Spirit. It is up to each of us to learn how the Spirit communicates with us personally. This is something worth praying for.
