Not all that wear the cause of christian wear it well.  Love should be the mark and sign of any true christian.  But that’s not always the case.  There are those that wear the name but practice hate, anger, greed, and everything Jesus Christ stood against.  There are those that wear the name and practice their own definition of love but their love lacks any Godly element.  

Perhaps in order to practice love one needs to know what love truly is?  Or at least what it isn’t.  For some, true love is a spiritual gift and they give it freely.  For others, it is a lifelong pursuit to understand it and obtain it.  And for some, it is seen as a weakness or character flaw that must be filtered out.  Disciples of Christ are found in the first two groups but true disciples are never in the third.
