When you look at your day
and you see only dark –
You want to find some hope
but you no longer trust your heart.
And you can’t believe
the reflection
in the mirror
could ever succeed.
That’s when
you make yourself say this declaration
just stand
stand tall
stand strong.
Stand strong and trust you have nothing to fear.
Stand strong and know there is a reason for you to be here.
Stand strong and believe there is more to you than what you see.
The time has come for you to be
the person you are meant to be all along.
Please, stand strong.
When you give it your best
but you fall short of the goal.
When you can’t find the sun
and you feel like you live in a hole.
You have to dig deep
and remember
always recall
you are here to succeed.
That’s when
you have to pick yourself up from the fall,
and stand
stand tall
stand strong.
Don’t cower, don’t slouch, don’t hide what’s inside
Stand strong, stand straight, stand tall you are beautiful.
You are so much more than what you see in the mirror
You need to pray to see yourself even clearer.
Stand strong and trust you have nothing to fear.
Stand strong and know there is a reason for you to be here.
Stand strong and believe there is more to you than what you see.
The time is here for you to become
just trust you are where you belong all along.
So stand strong.

Thank you for reading!
God bless you.
Thank you, I will!! 🙂 We all need to learn to be strong. Can be a long journey sometimes, but it’s better to face things and get stronger than run away from everything – because actually, we can’t really run away, so we might as well be strengthened by our downfalls and our past weaknesses. 🙂
Thank you I needed this. 🙂
I spent one day this week visiting with youth from the ages of 12-18. They just don’t seem to see themselves the way others do. A lot of them are just struggling to survive the day when they don’t realize their potential to take charge of the day. This poem is dedicated to them. But I’m glad it has resonated with so many today! It was just a few quick thoughts thrown together this week 🙂
I’m glad! 🙂
