As We Meet Again
President Thomas S. Monson
This may seem like an odd choice to include in a section about favorite conference talks. It is, after all, just the welcome.
This is the final conference my mom was able to hear. She passed away two months later. But she was able to hear the announcement that a temple of the Lord would be built in Wyoming. For that, I am grateful. And that’s why this particular welcome message holds a special place in my heart.
Top 10 Reasons to live in Wyoming
1. The wind is breathtaking. Seriously. Wear a scarf.
2. Don’t have to worry about all those pesky seasons.
3. It’s practically, nearly, almost in the middle of the United States.
Who Are You Again?
My brother thinks it’s a feminine trait to want to be lovingly remembered. He states guys don’t care if they are remembered at all. That’s an over-generalization to both sexes but I can understand his point. I want to be remembered. In fact, I informed my niece that in the majority of her Polaroid snapshots’ of memories, I want to be standing in the background. Waving. With a big, goofy grin.
Let Me Love You
When you look at me,
what exactly do you see?
A silly old girl
out of touch with reality?
When Your Towel is at the Ready
So, life got hard,
It is just not that easy.
Sunshine and roses,
It will not always be.
3 Squeezes and Love You to Pieces
I remember the time
Mom and I were at the store
I let go of her hand
so that I could explore.
Your Happily Ever After
By Dieter F. Uchtdorf
I had the opportunity to listen to this talk in person in the conference center. We took our Young Women down to Salt Lake for the broadcast. Still one of my favorite talks – and I use it often when I teach (like today)!
Spring!
The Ant’s Plan
The ant
in the band
had a plan
to meet his fan,
Stan,
in the sand.
But that ant
never made it passed the plant
where I happened to stand.
So Stan,
you just can’t,
can’t
meet as planned.
Sorry ant.
My condolences Stan.
