I had an idea for a poem but couldn’t get it quite right.  I attempted three times to get this thought right and finally gave up.  Today and next Wednesday I will share two of the attempts.

Jesus washed the feet

of His disciples one by one.

He performed the service

neglecting no one.

Even the betrayer Judas

was at that particular moment there

and received from Jesus

the same act of service of love and care.

In this world

when I chance to meet

someone who does me wrong

remember the example of Jesus washing Judas’ feet.

I have a duty

to treat each person with love and care

despite their actions

that may be considered unfair.
