General Conference thoughts: A Perfect Brightness of Hope

Hope is a word that gets thrown around a lot but what does it actually mean? For me, I have started using it in my testimony to replace “I know.” I now say, “I hope” because for me that feels more accurate.

I don’t really honestly know about life after death. But I sure hope all I have been taught is true. Hope is my motivating factor. I hope this is all true because the bigger picture of the gospel provides me peace.

My personal definition goes something like this:

Hope is trusting there is a finish line.

Faith is believing I can run the race.

Charity is helping others run the race.

  • Define hope
  • How does hope help you throughout the day?
  • What do you hope for?
  • Why is hope important for you?
  • What is the difference between hope and faith?
  • Why are hope, faith, and charity mentioned together?
