The birds outside

comment on the rain.

They are happy it’s done

but glad it came.

 

They are wise enough

to see past the inconvenient strife

and wait for it to pass

because that water is needed for life.

 

Be like those birds

when the storm comes upon you.

Know it will pass

eventually it will be through.

 

Be wise enough to see

that even troublesome adversity

is part of your growth

and helps you be who you need to be.
