Say, that’s a great idea!
Not to boast,
but that thought surely
is better than most.
Right as I close my eyes
to end the day.
Should I write it down?
No way!
No chance at all I’ll forget.
Just think it through
replay it on a loop
a time or two.
In the morning I will
write it down.
But sure enough when the sun is up
the idea isn’t found.
Laziness at bedtime
has a high cost.
So many genius thoughts
are gone and lost.
