Have you seen emails with “Print Responsibly” and some sort of logo – usually involving trees – at the bottom? A few of my coworkers have it stamped below their signature. I typically giggle when I see it because I envision what irresponsible printing might look like. Perhaps it looks similar to Judy at the copier.

Or the next level of slogans might be “Friends don’t let friends print stupidly.” The options are endless.
One day, I muttered it out loud like a good joke.
“What?” my new office mate asked.
I explained it’s at the bottom of so-and-so’s email.
“Oh,” she said. Then bless her heart she added, “You know, you just can’t read some people’s handwriting.”
And she was serious.
Huh. I did not see that coming. Her statement opened a whole new world of silly images for me.

Handwriting!? 😀 I didn’t know emails came hand written these days! 😉 I’ve not seen that logo, but I have heard of this ‘be careful with trees’ – ‘save the world as well as trees’ slogans. Kind of annoying, it’s what my brother and I call Nannyfacation (like having a Nanny or a Nursemaid to tell you what to think and do all the time!) Life is bad enough without these extra, extra save the earth morals (that nobody really does anyway!) 😀
To be fair, my coworker does not do computers. She does the bare minimum she needs to for work. Her monitor is surrounded by handwritten notes to herself.
But still…
Yeah, I still print the same amount as I always do. In fact, it makes me want to print even more 😉 But I’m a stinker like that.
