Every Monday should be a holiday

Every single Monday

should be a holiday.

Then nobody

would dread a Monday.

Of course,

the evil day

would then be

those darn Tuesdays.

Coworkers

would ask you –

is it a case

of the Tuesday blues?

And I’m sure

we would get greedy –

four days off

sound better than just three.

So why not

include Friday?

Yeah, the weekend will be

Friday through Monday.

And Tuesdays

will have the Tuesday blues.

A three day work schedule

for me – how about you?

And that my friend

is why every Monday

cannot always be

a blessed holiday.

Pacing

Anxiety and worry

I tend to wear on my shoulder

Still I carry on

like a frightened soldier.

Sleep will not come

for the troubled and concerned heart.

The load is heavy

when adversity will not part.

A rut in the floor

will be impressed soon enough

as I search for answers

primarily filled with love.

Answers elude me

when I try to find them alone.

This is more than

I can ever do on my own.

My troubles make me

pace a thousand times or more

but no peace comes

until my knees hit the floor.

The answer comes,

“Your troubles I will keep.

Rest now child,

it is time for you to sleep.”

The Place I Intend To Be

guest blogger

by Suzy Wordmuser:  http://wordmusing.wordpress.com/

Chasing rainbows

such a pointless task

pretty as they are

there’s nothing to hold

just a fleeting moment

a desire for something

that never was

could never be

would not satisfy

my human mind

my body of flesh

I never run

to find  the worthless

I pursue

with slow intent

those things

that have value

that make sense to me

and have become my world

My imaginings

are never empty

or fleeting

they are unbroken plans

a vision

made from years

of hard work

starting

from nothing

ending with

everything

That place I intend to reach

I surely will

December 26

Excuse me
for not being witty
today.
Melancholy
describes me
today.
No more celebration,
or anticipation
today.
It can’t stay
so tucked away
today.
As for me,
I feel gloomy
Today.

Just today, see.

I will be happy

tomorrow.
