I started this little blog seven years ago this month. For seven years I’ve posted little blurbs and thoughts and highly suspected my posts were overlooked. I just haven’t found a passion or interest to focus on so my writing is random and broad. But I keep toiling at it just in case something kicks in and I need to be prepared with this blog already in place. The point is I post four times a week and barely make my daily 10 view goal. In fact, I have had to round out the views on occasion to make 10. Not proud of it but it is a fact of life. So when I do post something that gets a little attention I’m surprised. That is what happened during the 2018 Christmas season. Continue reading

General Conference thoughts: The Joy of Unselfish Service
by Cristina B. Franco
First of all, I dare you to make it all the way through the chocolate cake story without getting a tear or two in your eyes. It’s okay. We all cried a little I’m sure. Continue reading
General Conference thoughts: For Him
by Joy D. Jones
This is a very beautiful talk but I’m going to sum it up with a previous thought:

General Conference thoughts: Believe, Love, Do
by Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf
My first thought while listening to this talk was ‘is this just another form of faith, hope, charity?’ Perhaps it is but it is in our language today. In other words, it’s to our understanding. Continue reading
General Conference thoughts: It Is All about People
by Bishop Gérald Caussé
I have shared this before but it’s been awhile. And it’s one of my favorite examples.
When my brother was called to serve as a bishop he asked several esteemed friends for advice. Out of all the wise advice he was given by leaders and former leaders on the ward and stake level in church the advice he most often recited came from our dad. In essence, dad told my brother it’s about the people. Continue reading
General Conference thoughts: Ministering as the Savior Does
by Jean B. Bingham
In the end (and we are nowhere near the end of discussing this topic), the most compelling example anyone can give is of the Savior Himself. Look to Jesus, He will show you the way on how to minister. He is, of course, the perfect minister. Continue reading
General Conference thoughts: Be With and Strengthen Them
by Elder Jeffrey R. Holland
How to be a decent human being 101. That’s what this is all about. If the heart is the symbol of love and we live in a time when “men’s hearts shall fail them” (Doctrine and Covenants 45:26) is it any wonder we need to be reminded how to use our heart? Or that we need to know how to put the checklist down and focus on people? Continue reading
General Conference thoughts: Pure Love: The True Sign of Every True Disciple of Jesus Christ
by Elder Massimo De Feo
Not all that wear the cause of christian wear it well. Love should be the mark and sign of any true christian. But that’s not always the case. There are those that wear the name but practice hate, anger, greed, and everything Jesus Christ stood against. There are those that wear the name and practice their own definition of love but their love lacks any Godly element. Continue reading
General Conference thoughts: Love One Another as He Has Loved Us
by Elder Jose L. Alonso
Love is misunderstood. Probably a lot of times it is mistaken for something else. Here are two things it looks like: service and forgiveness. Continue reading
General Conference thoughts: Fear Not to Do Good
by President Henry B. Eyring
Let me sum this one up quickly. This is what a testimony will do to you and for you. A testimony will prompt you to do good things. Continue reading
