Looks like I need another cookie
I have a perfect snack, you see,
a snack in right in front of me.
Some milk and a homemade cookie.
A cookie made deliciously.
Don’t drink the milk speedily
keep it even as can be.
It can get a little tricky
to finish them jointly
my milk and yummy cookie.

Excitement in the air –
my team gets to play.
All season long they fought
and made it to the big day.
Every single Monday
should be a holiday.
Then nobody
would dread a Monday.
Of course,
the evil day
would then be
those darn Tuesdays.
Coworkers
would ask you –
is it a case
of the Tuesday blues?
And I’m sure
we would get greedy –
four days off
sound better than just three.
So why not
include Friday?
Yeah, the weekend will be
Friday through Monday.
And Tuesdays
will have the Tuesday blues.
A three day work schedule
for me – how about you?
And that my friend
is why every Monday
cannot always be
a blessed holiday.

I could not get to sleep,
I could not sleep, boo-hoo-hoo.
I could not get to sleep
so after night number two
I went to extremes
I dug out my old rocking chair
from storage in the extra room
I kinda keep old clothes there.
I finally realize
that I can’t believe my eyes
when I’m looking in the mirror
the image ain’t always clearer.
Excuse me
for not being witty
today.
Melancholy
describes me
today.
No more celebration,
or anticipation
today.
It can’t stay
so tucked away
today.
As for me,
I feel gloomy
Today.
Just today, see.
I will be happy
tomorrow.
