I keep a running “thought board” in my Notes app. Some make it onto the same list, others get a whole new note started. Thoughts that I feel are deeply profound that I can somehow turn into a blog or poem later. Trouble is, I don’t always get back to them. The other trouble is they are not usually quite as deep or profound when I return to them. Some of them do not make any sense at all but in the moment they sure must have.
So, to clear out my phone, I went through some of these little gems and combined them into one long list. This is just a list, I won’t be unnecessarily explaining what really doesn’t need explaining. In part, because some of these are a couple years old. I now have no idea what I was thinking at the time.
They are short. They are many. My phone is cleaner.

I get you are on a road to be you but keep in mind at some point everyone runs out of the chance to make memories. Then you will be left with remembering the ones you have.

Funny how seconds can feel like a lifetime yet years feel like moments.
I listen. But I may not focus.
Remember, everyone is doing the best they CAN. And their best doesn’t look like YOUR best. And that is Okay.
Everyone is on some kind of edge. You never know if your action will cause them to tip to safety or off the edge. So, choose your interaction wisely.
An anchor doesn’t make the storm stop. It helps to get to the other side of the storm without getting lost. Storms will come to every ship.
Revenge tends to escalate.
When only one puts in the effort the effort will eventually stop.
When the day is important, we mark our calendars. Some days though, mark our hearts.
Sure, we see red flags. Some run away from them. Others are drawn to them.
It’s a hard thing to learn to judge what is best for you and not use that same measuring stick to judge others.
You can only hear and see one story at a time.
You have a right to feel it. But for your sake, learn to release it.
If we all had the gift of gab who would listen?
Communication is not based on the amount of talking but the level of mutual understanding.
Anxiety does not define you. But how you handle it does.
I earned my sleep.
