That Girl

She is going out in the world

time to show what she is made of.

She is going to show the big world

that she is made of the right stuff.

She is going to take it.

She is going to make it.

She has no time to hesitate.

She will fold her fears

and put them in her pocket,

and lock it.

This world is hers, she is the captain

she is the one who steers.

And the message she is sharing

to this great big, beautiful, sometimes scary world

comes from her own voice,

“I am a strong girl,

strong girl,

strong girl,

and I am going to take you on,

I am not afraid of you world.”

She knows from time to time

she will get knocked down

but she knows after a fall

she can stand tall.

This world will not win every time

she must stand her ground.

And the message she is sharing

to this great big, beautiful, sometimes scary world

comes from her own voice,

“I am a resilient girl,

resilient girl,

resilient girl,

and you will not win every time

you will not beat me world.”

She is also a woman

and she was born to nurture

to be a mother

to another

requires keeping the world at bay

in order to be pure.

And the message she is sharing

to this great big, beautiful, sometimes scary world

comes from her own voice,

“I am a tender girl,

tender girl,

tender girl,

and I will not always let you in

I need protection from the world.”

She knows who she is

there is no doubt in her heart.

She listens to the Spirit

she can hear it

whisper about her place in the world

she realizes her part.

And the message she is sharing

to this great big, beautiful, sometimes scary world

comes from her own voice,

“I am a confident girl,

confident girl,

confident girl,

and I am ready, oh so ready,

to go out into this world.”

And if this great big, beautiful, sometimes scary world

chooses not to see the girl

that is okay.

Because she knows she is that strong, resilient, tender, confident girl

that can take on the world.
