Summer Hours

First of all, this blog has a soundtrack.  Click here first.  When that is done, click here.

The other day I came up with a perfect summer schedule.  In the morning, I’d first do my personal studies, prayer, and meditation.  Afterwards, I’d work in my ever neglected yard.  Assuming of course that I miraculously became a morning person and woke up in time to work in the cool of the morning.  I discovered yesterday that the sun actually comes up at five in the morning now!  What up with that?

After lunch, I’d spend time writing.  Since this is a daydream, I flatter myself that I have many followers to cater to.  Plus, it would be a perfect opportunity to work on that novel that I’ve had kicking around for years.

In the late afternoon/early evening, I’d visit with friends on my porch.  I don’t actually have a porch but if I did anyone and everyone would be welcomed to stop by and chat.  During that special time of a summer day, you know, the early evening right before the sun disappears, I’d go for a walk.  I used to walk.  A good walk clears the head and opens up insights.

After my walk I’d come home and go to bed.  “Bed by 10 and up by 6, and let the day take care of itself.”  Yeah.

A perfect plan except for a few details. I’m not independently wealthy and I kind of have to go to work.  And I’ve never been in bed by 10.  And 6 A.M. does not exist in my vocabulary.  Other than those few details, I’m almost there.

This is a round about way of saying, I’m cutting back with the blogs for awhile.  It’s time to be outside.  We have such short summers here in Wyoming, I have to take advantage of it while I can.  So, do check back but not too often.  You should be outside, too!
