I Am Fine

“I am fine,”

we say without much thought.

What it means

can vary quite a lot.

It could mean –

“I am doing quite well.

So much good,

not enough time to tell.”

It could mean –

“My days are rather dull.

Too boring

to share a small earful.”

It could mean –

“Don’t be fooled by this act.

I’m not fine,

more like broken and cracked.”

The hearer

needs to crack that code

and decide

how to travel down that road.
