How about a message that shows what the Christmas season is all about? Yeah, I thought it would be nice, too.
There is something,
something in the air.
It comes this time of year,
it can be felt everywhere.
by Dallin H. Oaks
How many conference talks teach us about loving one another? We should probably keep count.
The prophet said,
the great test
we learn in life
is to obey
that will bring us rest.
Who am I to argue?
I do agree
obedience
is the test
and love is the key.

by James E. Faust (1920-2007)
One of my favorite conference talks. This was the very last General Conference by President Faust. So very powerful!
So you had a bad day
but it’s kind of hard to tell
your life is a string of bad days
nothing ever works out well.
And throwing in the towel
is something you will never do
you just keep going and trying
someday it will turn around for you.
There are those who make fun
and just don’t understand
they knock you down
instead of lending a helping hand.
As you pick yourself up from the fall
let me tell you if it helps at all –
I’m on your side.
I am on your side.
I am
on
your side.
Bad luck follows you,
it finds you day and night
and you just can’t seem
to do anything right.
No matter how hard
or how often you try
it’s not good enough
and so you’re left to cry.
You often wonder if
you’re here on your own
and no one, no no one,
wants to face this world alone.
I’m pulling for you to win
to rise above the din.
I’m on your side.
I am on your side.
I am
on
your side.
We may never meet
but believe that
even if you
can’t see that
I’m on your side.
I am on your side.
I am
on
your side.

This and other fine poems available on Amazon
The courage to say yes.
The courage to try.
The courage to show up.
The courage to give it your might.
Baby, there’s no maybe
when I say I love you.
And maybe, baby,
if you love me, too –
This and other fine poems available at Amazon.com A boy watched his mother
Tie one red ribbon on the green tree
He could not think of any reason
“Why a ribbon?” he asked her softly.
She replied, “It’s my final gift of the season
The most important one from me.”
“It’s just a piece of ribbon,
Whose gift could it possibly be?”
And he hoped deep inside
His name wouldn’t be
On the lone piece of ribbon
Hanging from the Christmas tree.
His dear mother,
Smiled at her son
Happy for the lesson
Which time had come.
She cut an extra piece
And sat on the brown chair
She held her arms open wide
“I have something to share.”
He climbed onto her lap
She opened the well worn book
Its cover was black
She asked, “What was the first gift of Christmas?”
As she flipped through the pages
She knew where to look
And opened the book
To Chapter 2 in the account of St. Matthew
“In verse 10 we read
“The wise men brought
Gold, Frankincense, and Myrrh.
Most valuable gifts indeed.”
He listened intently to her.
“But those weren’t the first.”
