If God is a perfect being and one who lives in an orderly and perfect kingdom, wouldn’t you think the ability to use His power would require the same kind of order?

“If ye have felt to sing the song of redeeming love, I would ask, can ye feel so now?” Alma 5:26. That’s the goal of life, isn’t it? Once we have started on the path to ‘press forward’ to not become deterred.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but there are a lot of people telling us ‘how to’ these days. How to be a woman is a strong and loud voice in the mix. In order to be a woman of today – and not a backward or past generation woman – we need to be strong. We need to want what the boys have. We need to be able to do it all without any help. We need to be coarse and rough and overcome any tendency to nurture – because nurturing is a weakness.
Excuse me?

Knowing I am a child of God is a most extraordinary piece of knowledge that is often taken for granted. Knowing this one thing can help me get through any mist of darkness that falls in my path.

This was the final talk from last conference. It was not only a beautiful tribute but also a gentle reminder. Either we believe there are true prophets of God today or we don’t. But if we do then shouldn’t we listen to them when they speak?
Truly we are a blessed people to have a designated spokesman of the Lord in this day and age. But a prophet is only to raise a voice of warning. It’s up to each of us to hearken – to listen and obey.

It seems to me that everything is in commotion, I thought one day. That’s when I realized, I am in a mist of darkness. The unsettled feelings. The inability to cope. It’s a trial that I’m going through.

I am reading the account of Christ’s last week in mortality – backwards – in all four gospels this Easter season. I started with His appearance after the resurrection and I am now to the Garden of Gethsemane and the betrayal.

I’m not sure why Christmas is such a big deal and Easter is not. Christmas has become a season rather than a holiday. Easter is a one-day deal.

If you are a follower of this little blog, what I write next will be a bit repetitive. That’s okay. Repetition is key to learning which is fundamental to understanding. And we all need to understand.

“My soul delighteth in the scriptures…my heart pondereth continually upon the things which I have seen and heard” (2 Nephi 4:15-16). Nephi wrote those words while summing up his trials.
