If you’re going to discuss fruit then you should probably have some actual fruit handy. “Would anyone like this apple?” If someone raises their hand give it to them. “Would anyone like this orange?” Again, give away the orange. Continue reading

General Conference thoughts: Small and Simple Things
by President Dallin H. Oaks
Everything we need to know we learned in primary. The primary or standard answers are always the answer because they truly are the answer. Scripture study. Prayer. Church. Temple. These are the things we need to make time for because these small acts done daily, weekly for church attendance, or as often as possible for temple attendance is what will determine our grasp on the iron rod and the pathway to the Tree of Life. General Conference thoughts: He That Shall Endure unto the End, the Same Shall Be Saved
by Elder Claudio D. Zivic
This is a word we are taught in primary. And in primary it seems like a fairly simple idea. Why wouldn’t you hold on to the gospel forever? Why would you ever let go? Continue reading
Pausing on the Path
I have no additional comment regarding this meme. This quote by Elder Ballard is a new favorite of mine.
Hold on Thy Way
by Koichi Aoyagi
It seems to me that everything is in commotion, I thought one day. That’s when I realized, I am in a mist of darkness. The unsettled feelings. The inability to cope. It’s a trial that I’m going through.
Yielding Our Hearts to God
by Neill F. Marriott
My goal for this year is to become a wise steward and quit trying to be an owner. I have got to remember whose work this is and it is not my work.

Abraham and Isaac
Genesis 22
Abraham said to Isaac,
“Son, come with me.
It is time to sacrifice
come learn and see.”
Isaac walked with Abraham,
and saw his father shed a tear.
Finally he asked softly ,
“Why did we come here?”
Abraham taught Isaac,
“Son, the Lord is leading me
we made a covenant
and I am not sure how it will be.
Right now, I am lost
I cannot see the end
but I trust the Lord
because he hears me again and again.
This has caused sleepless nights
filled with prayer and fret.
All I know is it will work out
but I do not know how, quite yet.
I love you son,
always know I love you
this thing I have been asked
is the hardest I will ever do.
I do not know how but I believe
a miracle is in store
because the Lord keeps his promises
forevermore, forevermore.
Do you trust me son?
Trust in me like I trust the Lord
there are blessings
that are in store.”
Isaac replied to Abraham,
“I am not sure I can see
but I trust in you
and I know this must be.”
Abraham offered Isaac,
but an angel stopped his hand.
The lesson was taught
so all could understand.
The lesson of Abraham and Isaac:
Trust in the covenants you make
because the Lord always does, too.
And know there is one who took your place
and made the sacrifice for you.

Unstatistically Speaking: The Strong Woman Club
I am pro-hero. Thankfully, the Lord has seen fit to place many heroes in my path. He knows I need lots and lots and yes, lots of guidance. In fact, there are so many upstanding people in my life I’ve had to separate them into categories. That’s right. I’ve grouped my heroes into clusters. It’s a work in process so I’m still working on cool titles. But I’d like to briefly mention four heroes right now.
