A Modern Day Proverb

A new adage I’m starting.  I hope it catches on. 

Ready?

Be as indestructible as a Pringles’ individual cup. 

It all starts with an ordinary Pringles' individual cup. Yes, the chips were yummy!

 

My mission: destroy the cup!

Can't say I didn't try to kill the cup.

 

It pops back in shape like nothing happened.

 

I'm not done.

 

I give it all I got.

 

A little dented but the shape still holds. Whatever life throws at us, be like a Pringles' cup! Remember the old Rolex slogan? This could be: Takes a beatin' so you can keep on eatin'! Maybe? Perhaps.

 

In Hindsight…

Somewhere, sometime in my younger days I had a lesson on talents.  I can’t remember the exact setting.  I might have been in the end of my Young Women’s era or in the first days of my institute years.  It was, however, definitely a church-oriented message.  The gist of it entailed me praying earnestly for the gift or talent I most wanted in life.

We all have certain gifts already given to us.  But if we apply ourselves and pray with pure sincerity, we can acquire more talents.  I took it to heart.  I came home, knelt by my bed and prayed one of the most heartfelt prayers I have ever uttered.

A Pet Peeve

Organization is only beneficial if it increases efficiency.  If it does not, or it becomes organization for the sake of organization, then it moves from the realm of effectiveness and becomes a fruitless obsession.  People brag about having the skill of organizing as if that is the most important skill in life only attainable by a select few.  Unless the doing follows the planning you’re only dreaming.  True organization, or the lack thereof, is plainly manifest and doesn’t need to be explained or excused.  Don’t apologize for being “too organized,” because if you do have that coveted skill, you just made my job easier.
