I surely don’t want to be known
only as the cranky one
who isn’t any fun
but when you live alone
and you’re usually on your own
it’s hard to just let it all go
and change to go with the flow
and forget the daily routine
even though change makes you mean
and a bit cranky, you know.

However cranky you might be may joy be yours forever. Here’s a poem that came to mind after reading yours. (I could use the advice as well, by the way, when I get cranky. So, it serves two purposes.)
May joy replace the crankiness
and laughter tame each moan.
Prefer instead to laugh and bless
perhaps be led to smile, confess
that laughter beats a groan.
Thanks for the well-wishes, Frank! I should commit that poem to memory so that I think of it before I react. 🙂
