green leaf turn yellow

the earth cools

leaves fall below

trees are stark and bare

snow blankets the earth

a chill fills the air

Spring comes –

buds bloom overnight

the earth warms

leaves grow and reach new height

Summer comes –

the leaves are green

heat covers the earth

the air sweltering yet serene

but this is not the end of the story
