Watch closely

the boy with an easy grin.

You don’t know

what pain he is hiding within.

 

He desires

to be happy-go

and forces

to make himself so.

 

He does not

like unhappiness

anywhere.

No misery, no sadness.

 

Even though

he may have a heavy heart

he sure tries

to act a different part.

 

But an act

belongs in a play of pretend

and a play

will always have an end.

 

Watch closely

that boy with an easy grin

because he

may be hiding pain within.
