Daniel 3
The King said,
“Go now, go, go,
you should all bow
bow right now
and worship the idol.
I am the King so make it so.”
3 replied,
“No way, no, no,
we will not bow
not then or now
and worship the idol,”
said Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.
The King said,
“I must insist
by solemn vow
you will bow
and worship the idol.
You must obey this.”
3 replied,
“Our God can save we know
but if not
we will not be caught
worshipping an idol,”
said Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.
The King said,
“Heat up the fire.
You 3 will die now
since you did not bow
and worship the idol
according to the King’s desire.”
3 replied,
“We willingly go
and die by fire
as we said prior
we will not worship the idol,”
said Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.
The King said,
“Throw them in.
Let them burn
so all will learn
to worship the idol
and the King will win.”
3 went in
to death they did go.
But to his surprise
before the King’s eyes
shattering his myth of an idol
There stood another with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.
4 stood
unhurt by flame.
They did not fall
a lesson for all
not to worship an idol
but trust in the Sure Name.
The King said,
“Let everyone know
I can see
everyone should be free
to worship the true God
of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.”
