I have lived the life of a Man of the world,

I have seen all of its ups and downs,

I have shaken the hand of the fair weather friend,

I have seen fortunes, smiles, and frowns.

but I have always found that if you would give

to the world the best you have

the best will surely come back to you.

So if there be any of the many

that I have befriended when across the big span

let them mark on my tombstone — “HERE LIES A MAN.”
