Here I am
waiting, hating
the red light.
Wishing I
coulda, shoulda
taken a right.
Traffic is
going not slowing
in front of me.
I am here
slow, a no-go
and I want to be.
So red light
will you help me out?
I need to
make a left turn right now.
I am so
tired of being stuck here –
I need you
to give me the all clear.
This one change
will all begin with you
If you will
just turn and let me through.
Please let me
be on my way
and leave all
this to yesterday.
Here I am
waiting, hating
the red light.
Wishing I
coulda, shoulda
taken a right.

I have found that “taking the right turn” just to avoid the long wait sometimes causes the journey to be longer than if I would have just been a little patient and waited out the dreadful, hated red light.
True. But it just feels better to move sometimes instead of watching everyone else moving.
It sounds comical when you put it in writing like this, that a red light could cause us to hate! It’s true though, and it’s what it stands for that we hate – the holding back of our lives even for a few moments. We really want to get rid of everything that holds us back – EVERYTHING! 😀
I don’t know about anybody else but I just feel better when I’m moving. Even if I’m moving in the wrong directions. Alas, the story of my life! 🙂
