During my twenties, I lived in three different states (four if you count my mission) and almost twice as many cities. I bumped around from place to place. Perhaps looking for a place to call home. Or I just enjoy the thrill of newness. It’s an excuse to get out and explore and not settle for the same old routine. I think I was born with a nomad’s heart – never really attaching to anything.
I am getting that itch again. Maybe it’s time to move on? But I’m older and more hesitant now. I know if I leave, I won’t come back to Wyoming. So I need to make sure. And so I stay.
But today’s question is – where would you live if you could live anywhere in the world?
Here’s some mood music while you contemplate.
I think I’d live where I’m living now, Norwich, Norfolk. I moved there when I was 21, it was only meant to be temporary, but I loved it so much I stayed! It’s a lovely city, doesn’t have all the stress that London has, and is very close to the coast, which means I get to visit the sea in a short journey, instead of a day trip! 😀
So, you found you’re home and settled in. That’s good. Just curious, how big (population wise) is your town?
Well, it’s a city, so it’s a fair size (approx 194,00 in population) it’s small compared to London, but plenty big enough to feel anonymous most of the time, I quite like that! I grew up in village for most of my childhood, and I found it not only very boring, but this thing you get in small villages where everyone knows each others business – or thinks they know, I really didn’t want to go through my adult life with that kind of tedium! 🙂
Here’s a video of Norwich if you are interested, you can take a fast virtual tour! Apologies in advance if this comes out as a video, I hope it doesn’t – I really hate that, a link is all you need really!
I would like to live where ever my family is…but if you move to Norwich I would love to come visit!
Too big for me! I big village is all I need 🙂
Oh, I guess I live in what you would call a village then 🙂 But this is as small as I go! (population about 20-30,000 – we’re just coming down from a boom). BUT it is the 4th largest town in Wyoming! Technically, we only have one city large enough to be considered an actual city in Wyo…
