Imagine

two seeds planted.

One seed’s

watering can

was flattering truth

and its sun

was hard truth.

Both necessary

for that little seed.

The water can of

flattering truth

poured confidence

while the sun

of hard truth

provided corrective light.

And it grew.

The other seed’s

watering can

was flattering lies

and its sun

mean lies.

Neither were useful

for that little seed.

The water can of

flattering lies

was empty

while the mean lies

blocked the sun

and provided no light.

This seed could not grow.
