Adam and Eve

with help from that old serpent

woke up one day

and became the snake’s servant.

 

With a little nibble

their slithery antagonist

opened their eyes and they

discovered their nakedness.

 

Here I am

thinking I’ve got the stuff

until one day

someone said, “You ain’t nearly enough.”

 

With a little display

my strong willed antagonist

opened my eyes and I

discovered my nakedness.

 

Exiled from comfort

can turn weakness strong

when we realize

we are naked all along.

 

Embrace who you are

become the protagonist

when you open your eyes

and discover your nakedness.
