Here I am

I’m still here

but ready,

oh, so ready

to push aside the fear.

I’m gonna do it.

It’s time to move on

here I go,

I’m going now

it’s a new dawn.

I will take the next step.

One step at a time

is all that it takes

to move me

I’m moving down the line.

One step and then another

changes my location.

Each step I take

every little step

can change my direction.

Here I am.

I’m still me

but somehow a little different

a little changed

I’m not the same girl I used to be.

The time has come

as it does for all

a leap instead of a step

more than a step

I’m answering the call.

I will take the next step

close my eyes and try

hold my breath

a deep breath

it’s time to fall or fly.

One step is all it takes.

Maybe I will soar

but it all starts

it begins

with one step more.
