Happy half-birthday to me!

I know what you are thinking

half-birthdays aren’t really a thing

another made up holiday

is not needed in any way

but I am here to say maybe

half-birthdays should actually be.

To grow old gracefully

is little more than myth usually

what doesn’t hurt sure slows down

and my mind may or may not be sound.

Still, it’s a privilege to complain this fate

so I’ll create chances to celebrate

and say, happy half-birthday to me!
