I am on my way to work

but I don’t really want to be there today

so how about if I miss my turn

and just get on the interstate

and drive 500 miles your way

and then I can see your face.

Call it running away

but that’s just what I do

and it’s been a while

so can I run to you?

We can catch up

and you can make me laugh

and I will do the same for you.

I won’t stay long

just for a little bit

and then one day

I’ll be gone

but I will return

some other day

when I need a break

and have to run away.
