The Midnight Hour

Perhaps I am crazy,

Worse things have been said.

But I have felt you near me,

And know, it’s not all in my head.

When the tears flow without end,

And sorrow consumes my body,

You have been my only friend,

The one who stuck by me.

Perhaps you are the only one,

That I allowed inside.

I know not the reason,

But you have stayed by my side.

Though I cannot see,

I have felt you near.

My mind may doubt, but my heart believes,

That you have been here.

I wish there was something I could do-

So with all my strength and power,

I say into the empty room, Thank You,

For staying with me through my midnight hour.
